The raspy tones that Chrys Black incorporates in her projects exudes her background in Jazz. This tenor sax player turned guitarist has an amazing ability to capture an audience’s attention from an intimate setting of a hundred or less to larger venues with thousands of attendees.
At an early age Chrys enveloped herself in music through piano and tenor sax. It was where she found peace and at 20 she started writing her own music as an escape from life struggles. She quickly found that people could relate to her lyrics and she gets her originals requested even at her large cover shows. By mixing up Jazz, Blues, R&B, Southern Rock, Country, Pop, Dance and Rock-N-Roll she is able to surprise the audience by giving them the songs they know and love with a twist just to keep it interesting. By adding originals to reel in fans; she has the unique ability to read the crowd and knows what songs will really keep them entertained.
Chrys Black has played large and small venues, bars, festivals, weddings, wedding receptions, as well as private and corporate parties. She is currently booking throughout the Southeast with All Folked Up, her acoustic project and Alter Egoher newest project playing your favorite covers, originals and mixing up the hits…both old and new songs with the precision of a DJ.
